More about George Stewart

Tell us about yourself

I am an area surveyor who operates out of our Glasgow branch covering PA and ML postcodes. I love to travel and meet new people, I like to think I can make a difference to people’s lives and I feel I can do that in my current roll.

What are your responsibilities?

My main responsibilities are surveying properties to the best of my ability and to the highest standard giving a professional service at all times. Supervising works to meet Health & Safety standards as well as customer relations and generating new business.

What was your first job?

My first job was at Glasgow Airport working as a maintenance technician. Driving around on the apron was always a little intimidating next to all sorts of aircrafts. Great environment to work in though.

When it comes to property, what is the next big thing?

Solar panels and other energy savings I would say are leading the way.

What are your past times and interests?

I have quite a young family who take up a lot of time.

What has been your career highlight?

I would have to say my current position at Wise. It really is a great company to work for and I get to travel and meet new people on a daily basis.

what is the next best thing in the preservation/property market?

I feel at this time Japanese Knotweed treatment is only going to get bigger. I reckon knotweed affects more properties than many people may think.

What in your opinion is the one thing above all that sells a house?

In my opinion, I feel if a house is well looked after with well maintained exterior and garden. It also helps if the house is energy efficient.

If money was no object where would you live?

If I have the privilege of living abroad it would probably have to be Australia. One my friends is there and the weather and outdoor life is good.

Which celebrity would you most like to work with?

It would have to be Leonardo Dicaprio, as he is a fabulous actor who puts his all into his work which shows on the big screen.
