Before founding Wise Property Care Ltd, Les initially trained as a Quantity Surveyor. At 21 he got the chance to work within the building preservation industry and enjoyed it so much that he has been a "Rotter" for some 40 years now from the early beginnings as a surveyor through eventually to director of a national preservation company to then founder of Wise Property Care - the most innovative and technologically advanced company within our industry.
Regarded by some as an industry expert, he regularly conducts CPD seminars on "What's New in Building Preservation" to a variety of professional audiences. With a reputation for innovation within the industry you can regularly hear Les’s thoughts and views through ‘The Rotter Blog’.
Having been honoured with being elected as 'Chairman of the Property Care Association' (PCA) - the governing body of the industry; elected as 'Director to the board of the Entrepreneurial Exchange' and selected to mentor businesses under the 'Scottish Enterprise' mentoring scheme; Les still finds the time to lecture on Entrepreneurship at The "Hunter Centre for Entrepreneurship" at Strathclyde University and on Building Preservation to Building Surveyors at Caledonian University.

Personally the birth of my son - I believe there is not a prouder moment in anybody's life than the birth of your first child. Business-wise - getting the cash to pay the first months wages.
Most people do not realise that I am actually a very quiet guy. I am an introvert at home but in business I have to be an extrovert - it is almost like a Jekyll and Hyde personality!
Business-wise - the company going bust. Personally - my son has had some serious health problems in the past, so my other greatest fear is that recurring.
John Wayne and Martin Luther King. Robin Williams and Eric Morecambe for a bit of comedy. Also, it would be great to have Nelson Mandela to dinner because I think he would make you feel humble in his presence given what he's been through in his life. And from a business point of view, maybe someone like Andrew Carnegie.
