Breaking News: Dry rot traps Santa’s sleigh

Christmas in jeopardy

Freephone :

The 2015 Christmas present delivery may be in jeopardy as a bad case of dry rot has caused Santa’s trusty sleigh to get stuck in the roof of the home he shares with Mrs Claus and the elves at the North Pole.

The chronic timber condition has caused Santa’s roof to cave in, bringing the sleigh down with it.

Old Saint Nick has been on the phone with Wise to see if he can get the problem fixed.

Lets hope we can help.

A Christmas emergency

Can Wise Property Care help Santa?

“When Santa Called we were not quite sure what to make of it”, said Wise MD Les Meikle.

“We usually only cover Scotland, but Santa did point out that we went over to Iceland once for a woodworm job, so heading a little further into the Arctic Circle should not be too much trouble. Obviously we could not say no, it was Santa on the phone after all.”

Old Saint Nick was relieved to hear that Wise would be coming to the rescue.

“I had seen the testimonials on their website and they seem highly qualified, so I knew Wise Property Care were the company for the job...” said Santa.

“..and I need that roof fixed pronto. I have to get my sleigh out of there to deliver all the good boys and girls their presents.”

What is dry rot?

Dry rot is a timber destroying fungus that can cause serious damage to properties. In Santa's case, Wise Property Care reckon that poor ventilation in his attic has caused suitable conditions for the dry rot spores to grow.

Santa confirmed that poor ventilation was probably the the reason the dry rot was able to get so bad. “I asked one of the elves to fit a vent up there, but when I went up to check, all he had done was wrap the rafters in tinsel, and by then it was far too late. I guess elves are not the best for this kind of work.”

Why call Wise?

“We like to think Santa made a “Wise Choice” in giving us a call” said Les Meikle (MD of Wise Property Cre)

“We have been treating dry rot in properties all across Scotland for the best part of 20 years and we are also the only property preservation company regulated by the RICS.”

“I am absolutely certain we will be able to get Santa’s dry rot treatment done in a quick and professional manner in time for his Christmas Eve night shift.”

The Wise guys certainly seem like the right choice for Santa Claus.
