Who would have thought that ‘a Rotter’ would be elected PCA chairman. How did that happen?!? Hang on a minute...the Rotter is yours truly!

I am very happy to announce that I have recently been elected as the chairman of the Property Care Association (PCA) for the next 2 years. Rotten luck, not at all, however I will be succeeding Martin Hughes as chairman who was widely respected and will be a very tough act to follow!

My story in the PCA and as The Rotter

As those who know me will be aware, I have been a member of the Property Care Association for some 35 years now since its early days as the BCDA (British Chemical and Damp Proofing Association) then the BWPDA when it merged with the British Wood Association and latterly as it rebranded as the Property Care Association.

Having chaired the Scottish region for more years than I care to remember, I am looking forward to the challenges that lie ahead as the association expands into the area of Invasive Weed Control (Japanese Knotweed in particular) and guides its members in both surviving this challenging economy and preparing them to capitalise profitably and safely when the better times return, as they will.

What is the Property Care Association?

The Property Care Association (PCA) is widely known for its high standards, as the body most reputable and aspiring contractors would like to join and as being the “Industry Trainer” both to members and non members alike, indeed many professional bodies are now taking advantage of the wide variety of courses available from the PCA at their Training centre in Huntingdon.

From woodworm to basement waterproofing, structural repairs to masonry (crack stabilization) and timber (dry rot & wet rot), condensation and flooding; the public and professional advisers can often find a solution to their problems either from a member or from the Property Care Associations comprehensive website.

The PCA also guidelines and quality assures the level of professionalism, works and service that a property owner will receive from any PCA member. It is the respected governing body for the industry and as Managing Director of Wise Property Care, I am proud to play my part in the association’s future.

Look out for my future posts and videos talking about the latest news from the PCA.

Best regards,

The Rotter
