Hello folks,
I was recently in attendance at the RICS Scotland awards at the Grand Sheraton hotel in Edinburgh, where we were sponsoring the Building Conservation award.
As ever, it was a brilliant awards ceremony with some exciting and interesting winners.
Read on to find out more.
RICS Scotland Building Conservation award
As I mentioned, we were an award sponsor this year and each and everyone of the nominees was impressive. That said, The Edinburgh Centre for Carbon Innovation were deserving winners for their pioneering and energy efficient makeover of the 18th century Old High School building at the University of Edinburgh.
Laura Hall MRICS, Chair of the RICS Scotland judging panel, lauded the designers “sensitive approach to conservation” before describing the improved building as “a world class facility. ”I couldn’t agree more with this assessment and, as a company that values innovation, I am very pleased that Wise were able to sponsor an award that went to such a progressive project.
RICS Awards Grand Final
The Edinburgh Centre for Carbon Innovation will now be representing Scotland at the UK RICS Awards Grand Final on October 17 at the Savoy Hotel in London. At this ceremony they will go head-to-head against projects from all over the UK, so of course I want to wish them “awrabest” – I’m sure they will do us proud!
Until next time - Awrabest,
The Rotter
