My colleagues might jokingly call me “The Rotter” but my mood is far from rotten today. It gives me great pleasure to announce that Wise Property Care is now regulated by the RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors).
Wise are the first property preservation company in the UK to be afforded this honour and it is something I am taking very seriously.
Read on to find out more about the RICS and why I am proud as punch to know that Wise Property Care are working under their regulation.
RICS regulated - what's the big deal about that?
Let me tell you why its a big deal. Even though we are extremely proud of all our other professional memberships and accreditations such as our 'Property Care Association (PCA)' and 'Which?' status, The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors is probably the benchmark regulatory standard for most people within the property industry.
The RICS regulates and promotes the professions of property, land and construction surveying and strives to uphold the highest standards whilst protecting clients and consumers with a stringent code of ethics. In their own words they aim to “represent everything professional and ethical in land, property and construction”.
Trust me when I say this... becoming the first company outwith the typically regulated clientele was no easy task, and we are EXTREMELY PROUD to be the FIRST EVER company in our industry to be accepted into the RICS family.
Ethics within the industry is a key part of what the RICS represent and ethical business practice is equally important to the services provided by my team at Wise.
The RICS insist that all members must demonstrate that they:
- Act with integrity
- Always provide a high standard of service
- Act in a way that promotes trust in the profession
- Treat others with respect
- Take responsibility
I welcome this level of responsibility at Wise Property Care and feel it demonstrates that we are a company that is not afraid to be judged to high standards.
As an honorary FRICS (Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors), I can vouch for the fact that being regulated by the RICS requires a consistent level of improvement, with members committing to set amounts of Continued Professional Development (CPD) throughout the year.
Of course, CPD training is something we are more than familiar with at Wise Property Care due to providing our own CPD courses for other businesses.
Our RICS regulated status is just the latest example of Wise Property Care being rated and approved by key organisations including Which?, Safe Contractor, Trust Mark, the PCA and The Living Wage amongst others.
We are keen to let people know when we are approved by these organisations because it lets our clients and customers know that they dealing with an ethical, trustworthy and professional company.
Until next time,
