Woodworm attacks Dundee!

An unusual one for Scotland…it seems the Powderpost woodworm beetle (Xylobiops basilaris) has a taste for wicker baskets in the Dundee area!

Normally associated with timber yards, stockyards or storerooms, it seems this particular beetle likes to munch on varnished wood.

Is it the start of a new woodworm invasion???  …well, only time will tell. For the time being, mother nature is doing its work until the woodworm season next year.
