They are effective in that they will remove the black mould and help prevent it from re-growing within the treated area. However, you should try and establish what the root cause of the black mould problem is and tackle that issue. You will have an underlying damp or condensation problem which is causing the black mould growth which should be rectified or you are likely to experience ongoing mould issues.
